Just across the river in Portland, Oregon, is the bookstore all programmers would like to browse in: Powells Technical Books. An entire store, packed with excellent stuff including:

• programming languages books
• operating systems books
• graphics
• a store cat (not making this up)

Not to be confused with their regular store 3 blocks away, that covers a city block and is a big hit with visiting tourists.
